DELL STUDIO 1737 POWER BUTTON WONT START LAPTOP

My Dell studio 1737 laptop power button has just stopped working. this is second time this has happened, laptop out of warranty now, can anyone suggest what to do, or has this happened to you before. The laptop hasnt been dropped or damaged in any way. read more

if you laptop is still under warranty it can be fixed for free if not bring it to a best buy and have geek squad do it it will cost money but they can make to work awesomely or just bring it where you got it and they will tell you what to do with it but for now keep it on pushing it harder will brake it more

I was doing some work with a newish dell inspiron 1545 notebook. In the prcocess, I accidently cracked something off. The power inverter has a small ribbon cable going from it, to a connector on the motherboard.
